'Fit to Fight' Fitness program designed for patients undergoing treatment

If you have been recently diagnosed with cancer or are undergoing treatment, it's important to take special care of yourself. Studies show that one of the best ways to do this is to stay physically active.

But starting a fitness program during this challenging time can be especially difficult.

‘Fit to Fight Canxercise Program’ is a new approach to help patients stay active during their treatment. The multi level program is specifically designed by medical personnel for cancer patients and includes medical screenings, nutrition support, physical therapy and fitness programs.

Offered by Spectrum Fitness, with support from the Rio Grande Cancer Foundation, the goal is to “bridge the gap between rehabilitation, wellness and fitness. The initial class is free of charge to patients courtesy of the Rio Grande Cancer Foundation.

Spectrum Fitness is located at 1700 Cliff Drive, in central El Paso. Patients who are interested are encouraged to ask their physician about a referral or they can call Spectrum directly at 915-500-6000.
